Diethelm Travel Group, a subsidiary of Diethelm Holdings headquartered in Zurich, among the top tour operator brands in Southeast Asia, is now in Sri Lanka operating with a strong brand presence. Partnered with, one of Sri Lanka’s largest destination management companies Hemtours: of the Hemas Group, Diethelm will conduct its Sri Lanka and Maldives operations from Colombo. The new partnership was first announced in March this year, at the ITB in Berlin, subsequent to signing a memorandum of understanding. It came in to full fledged operation from 1st September 2008.John Watson, CEO of Diethelm Travel, in Colombo for the launch commented “We will be into great things with Sri Lanka Tourism”. With Diethelm’s entry, Sri Lanka Tourism can expect the formation of many similar partnerships and the added presence of global brands marketing the destination.
