Turning Past glory into a top end accommodation facility

Within the 400 year old walls of Galle Fort - classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site - Amangalla is housed in historic colonial buildings, dating from 1684. The Oriental Hotel was founded in 1863, and renamed the New Oriental Hotel at the turn of the century. Today it is one of Asia’s oldest registered hotels. Fully renovated and restored to the lustrous ambience of a distant era, it is now operative under the name Amangalla.
